The young twenty six year old named Catherine Madison Grayson could barely sleep, right now she was in her bed at home in her loft, and she was tossing and turning. The past was haunting her in her dreams, and even when she was wide awake. The ginger haired woman continued to toss and turn, as the memory came once more. "No.." She muttered outloud as she continued sleeping on. "Stop.. Her arms flayed up in the air as she continued dreaming.
Her attacker was on top of her and she could hardly breathe. Catherine could feel the blade piercing againest her creamy skin as he tore open her blouse and than moved down towards her exposed legs. As much as she squirmed to prey loose off her attacker, she couldn't break free. Screams of pain and discomfort filled her lungs up as she struggled to break free. Please..stop it! Her screams pierced the night air, as the pain of being violated pierced her entire body.
Nooo! Catherine screamed as she woke up drenched in sweat. Sitting up in bed, she look around with tears in her eyes. It had been just a dream but, it had felt so real. Her feet hit the wooden floor as she got out of bed and headed into the bathroom. Her hands reached for the water sprout in the shower as she turned it on.
Slipping out of her clothes, she stepped into the shower. The water spraying againest her body. More tears ran down her face as she cleaned herself up. An while later, she was dressed in her work uniform and off to work. Once again, an fake smile appeared on her face as she entered Joe's diner.
Catherine was far from happy and she was barely breathing. She felt so dead and empty inside..

Ridley pulled up to Joes Dinner, she glanced over her shoulder at the small five year old child in the back seat. A smile came to her lips as she turned the car off and ran a hand through her golden locks. After about ten hours of driving they had finally arrived to the new place they would call home. It was the only thing Ridley could think of to do for them, they both needed a new start. She slipped her keys into the bag and opened the driver side door and got out of the car. She closed her door and opened the back door and leaned into the car.
"Tyson...baby love its time to get up." The small five year old stirred in his sleep and looked up at Ridley. As far as he knew she was his mommy, after he was born five years ago to her bestfriend Kayla he was given to a close friend. But with Kayla dead and gone it only left Ridley left to take care of him. So they introduced Ridley to the small boy as his mother and well it didn't take long for him to become attached to her at all. Ridley took off his seat belt and helped him out of the car. "You hungry Tyson?"
Tyson didn't say anything at all just grasped on her hand as they both made their way into the dinner. As she opened the door a small bell chimed to let the person working know there was someone else in the restaurant. Ridley glanced around and then led Tyson over to a small booth and sat him down. "You wait here I have to make a phone call." She turned and looked around, she noticed another girl in the dinner as well. Ridley smoothed out her hair and walked over to her. "Excuse me is there a phone here I can use?"

Catherine blinked back a few more tears that started to appear in her eyes. Why couldn't she just work in peace, instead the mere memory of being raped seemed to be haunting the ginger haired twenty six year old. It seemed like there were hardly any customers and all Kit Kat wanted to do was head home and try to sleep. Try being the keyword since nightmares tended to take over her subconscious mind while she slept. They were more than just nightmares, it was like playing the same bad memory over and over.
Catherine had no idea how much more pain she could take. She was beginning to feel like she was losing her god damn mind. Lost in thinking she was about to lose her own insanity, she heard the chime of the bell ringing. It was an sign of customer, something she hadn't really been expecting, since it seemed business was slow tonight. Looking up from behind the cash register, she saw an blonde young woman and a little boy.
An smile appeared on her face, relieved it wasn't her rapist coming back for revenge. "Welcome to Eat At Joe's, how can I help you?" Before she could hear the young woman's answer, the woman had asked if she could use the phone. Catherine nodded as she looked at her. "Yeah, sure..go ahead."
Resting her hands on the counter, she smiled at the little boy.

Ridley gave the girl a smile and and nods her head "Thanks" she said softly. She looked over her shoulders back over at Tyson to make sure he was okay. He had already made himself comfortable in the booth playing with two small matchbox cars he had in his pocket. Ridley then turned on her heel and headed to the back quickly to use the phone. All she had to do was let her friends know she was fine, but not tell them where they were. It wasn't that she didn't want them to know it was more like she didn't want them to turn up here. This was a fresh new start for her and Tyson and she didn't need the past coming back them at all.
She was gone for a good ten minuets and emerged back to the front of the dinner. With a quick run of her hands through her hair she walked back over to the counter where the girl was. They hadn't had any food in the last ten hours and the small child had to be hungry. "Hi..um do you have any kid menus at all?" Ridley drummed her fingers on the counter as she looked around the dinner and then back at the girl behind the counter.
Ridley was used to dinner food, when she and Kayla did drug runs they used to only have enough money to just eat at dinners. It might not be the best food at all but it surly beat eating food out of gas stations. Ridley then walked back over to the table and took a seat down. Tyson looked up at her and rolled his car on the table Mommy I want I cream. Just hearing him called her mommy sounded weird but she couldn't help but smile. "You can have ice cream after you eat something okay." Tyson made a face but went back to playing with his cars.

Another smile appeared on Catherine Grayson's face as the blonde thanked her for letting her use the phone. "You're very welcome." She told the girl with another smile as she continued looking over at the little boy in the both. He looked so cute, young and innocent came to the twenty six year olds mind as she watched him play with the Matchbox cars at the booth. To be innocent again, that would be nice.
Catherine felt far from innocent, even though the rape had been six years ago, she still felt dirty; no matter how many times she showered, it felt like the dirt was permanent sticking to her. She shivered as the thought of dirt sticking to her like blood sucking leeches, freaked her out a little. "Hi..um do you have any kid menus at all?" Her eyes moved back towards the young woman who had finished using the phone. "Yes, we sure do."
Looking around the counter, she spotted the kids menus and picked one up. "They might not be exactly McDonald's kids meals or anything but, their something." Catherine said with a small laugh as she handed the young woman an kids menu. Watching the young woman talk to the small little boy, she felt an sentimental feeling of love and care for the child coming from the woman and she smiled. " He's an awfully cute little boy, is he yours?"
She asked in curiosity as she walked over to the booth and gave the little boy and coloring book and some crayons. "He is just so adorable." Having a child must be such a wonderful experience and being able to watch your child grown, must be a joy to watch. Thought Catherine as she once more stood behind the counter. Maybe if she started trusting men again, she could find her Prince Charming, get married and one day have a family of her own.
The thought bought a smile on her face as she stood there day dreaming about the future.

It was lunch time and Scott was more then hungry. He had already been through two meetings today, one with his superiors and one with his team about what they were going to about the bridge near the freeway. It was structurally deficient but his bosses didn't want to do anything drastic such as knock it down and rebuild it, unless of course repairs cost more then a new one would, in which case it would be perfectly fine. Unfortunately that was not the case this time around, and he and his team came up with a plan to work on the cement legs. Right now it was his turn for lunch break, and since they got no breaks at work lunch was an hour and a half. What better place to have lunch then Joe's? He couldn't think of one, so Joe's it was and walked over to his car in the parking lot.
After a short drive he arrived at the diner and just in time to because his stomach must have growled about six times on the way there. Getting out of his car, he locked the door and headed inside. He wasn't sure what he was going to have just yet, but he wanted to have a big meal...he had skipped breakfast this morning and was feeling the effects now. Opening the door he headed inside and there she was...Catherine. He could never forget her face, or her smile. She just didn't seem to notice him...well she did, but not the way he wanted anyway. There was no denying he had taken a big liking to her, she just didn't seem to like him.
Currently though she was talking to another customer, so maybe he should wait his turn to talk to her? No...he couldn't do that, he only had an hour and a half, and they did seem to be hitting it off so if he didn't have a choice but to go talk to her right now. Walking over to her he stood next to the women now, and gave her a quick nod before turning his attention to Catherine. "Well, well, well...we meet again." He told her with a big grin on his face. It was safe to say he only came to this diner to bump into Catherine and the women would obviously be able to tell they have bumped into each other before and on more then one occasion. "How are you doing today?" Man did he enjoy seeing Catherine, maybe today he would finally get the feeling she was interested in him...then again he could just simply ask her out on a date already and figure it out that way too.

Catherine Grayson was feeling slightly better thanks to her daydream about the future, it seemed to calm her just a little bit. It was enough to put a small smile on her face as she stood behind the counter. She was waiting for the blonde's answer to her question as she stood there. Suddenly, she snapped out of her trance-like state as she heard the bell ring near the door, an signal that someone else had entered the diner. The pretty ginger haired twenty six year old looked up to see an familar face, Scott Williams.
Catherine could feel her heart racing like crazy as Scott approached the counter. Scott Williams had been coming to Eat At Joe's for lunch, for as long as she could remember. It seemed for the longest time since Catherine could remember, he had his eyes on her. If it was the case, she had never been raped; she would of asked him out in a heart beat. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Ever since the rape, she had trouble opening up to men and let alone trust them. Scott, was different or so she wanted to believe. Catherine was just so afraid of getting hurt again. Seeing Scott stop next to the woman, an bigger smile appeared on her face as she leaned againest the counter. "Well, well, well...we meet again." When she saw his big grin on his face, she reconsidered opening up to Scott, maybe she would even go on a date with him. Catherine knew in her heart, he was a good guy and maybe it would do her some good to go out and live a little.
" It's always a pleasure to see you." She told Scott with a smile as she leaned againest the counter still. "I'm doing, alright..you?" A little small talk wasn't going to hurt anyone and she enjoyed his company. There was just something about him that made her smile.

Scott knew he might have just interrupted Catherine's conversation with this women, but truth be told he hadn't really thought about that when he walked over to her. He was far to interested in talking to her more then anything, and you can't really blame him for it. The only reason he came to this diner was because of Catherine, of course the fact that he thought the food was good helped out but Catherine made coming here a much easier decision. Of course he hadn't asked her out on a date yet, but since he came here so often he felt like he knew her more then enough to do that. He didn't know if today was finally the day he asked her, but he did know today was a step in that direction. How did he know it was a step in that direction? It was simple, the smile on her face said it all.
Surely by know she must know his reasons for coming here so often, and that was good. He wanted her to know he was interested in her, that way when he did ask her out it wouldn't seem random. When she said it was always a pleasure to see him, it was definitely pushing him in the direction of asking her out on a date today, but he'd have to wait and see. "I'm doing just fine...big project at work but you probably already knew that..." How could she not know? She already knew what he did, and most of the time when he talked to her he mentioned a project at work. So now he was working on a thing were he didn't mention work because he wanted to talk to her about other things too.
Laughing a little about his work thing his attention now turned to the women standing next to him. If he had to guess, and when it came to guessing he was normally way off, but if he had too, he would guess that this women was around his age. He may be wrong but she looked young. "Sorry if I disrupted your conversation..." he wasn't going to say that he just couldn't wait for his turn to talk to Catherine, because that would be a bit of a giveaway. "Catherine, who is your new friend here?" He asked turning back to Catherine with a curious look on his face. It was safe to say he wouldn't ask her out on a date as long as she was still here, but maybe this was a sign not to ask her right now and wait till later. Then again he could just be straight forward and ask right in front of her. He'll just have to wait and see.

The young blonde woman with the little boy, still not responding to the question she had asked moments before Scott had entered the diner. Right now, she could barely concentrate on her job, her thoughts on Scott and only him. This is crazy. Catherine tells herself as she keeps her light brown eyes on him. Just him.
Shes known him for a while but, this feeling she is feeling? It isn't love isn't it? Catherine hasn't opened her heart to anyone since her early days of college. Maybe it was just lust? The twenty six year old was so unsure what her feelings were at the moment. She didn't care as long as Scott stayed with her, here for a while. Just a while, thats all that would matter. An small smile appears on her lips as she keeps her gaze on him.
"I'm doing just fine...big project at work but you probably already knew that..." Catherine laughs a little as she nods. "Oh yes, I'm quite aware at how handy you are." When she says the word handy, she wonders how handy he would be in bed. She can't help herself, having no sex in a long ass time or doing nothing intimate was driving her insane.
So insane her body ached for another body pressed against hers. Catherine needed to brush those thoughts away and focus. She watches as he turns to look at the young woman, she can feel her eyes linger to the shape of his fingers, his strong firm hands and than continue looking down near his ass, which looks tight and firm. She blinks for a moment and than glances back up. What the hell was wrong with her?
Focus..focus.. She once more tells herself as she looks at Scott and the blonde. "Catherine, who is your new friend here?" Her mind is starting to drift away on things she shouldn't be thinking about in a public place. Blinking again, she waves her hand to the blonde. "Her? I just met her..I don't really know her."
She admits truthfully as she places her hand once more down to her side. "I'm Catherine by the way." Catherine introduces herself to the blonde as she keeps her eyes on Scott and the stranger.

As the menu was handed to them Ridley gave the girl a huge smile and nods her head. "Thanks" She placed the menu down on the table in front of her and the little boy. Tyson scooted himself up more onto the table so that he could look at the menu. He was a smart little boy, he could read a few words here and there and could recite the alphabet not only forward but back wards as well. In so many ways he reminded Ridley of his real mother and it made her smile but at the same time scared her to death. There were so many things she wanted Tyson to do with his life and going down that same path as his Kayla was not one of them.
Tyson pointed to the picture of the Mac & Cheese telling Ridley thats what he wanted to eat. With a small smile she turned and looked back at the waiters. About to tell her the order but stopped when she heard someone else walk into the small dinner. Her eyes moved away from the redhead over to the young male that walked into dinner. "Well, well, well...we meet again." It was apparent to Ridley that both of them had know each other. Not wanting to interrupt them at all she turned back to Tyson to keep the small boy entertained.
While she sat there she with Tyson she mapped out her next few days. Things were going to be a bit strained not only for herself but for Tyson as well. How was she going to explain that he had a uncle with out making it seem like she was not his mother. Ridley rubbed the side of her head as she glanced out the window watching a few cars pass by them. Ridley was not even sure what even sure where Braxton lived at all in this town, all she had was his number and that was it. Fine mess you have gotten yourself into lady Ridley thought to herself.
She was pulled from her thoughts when she heard the other women talk to her. She turned her head quickly and gave her a small smile "Nice to meet you Catherine, I'm Ridley and this little guy here is Tyson." Ridley motioned to Tyson who had stopped playing with his cars and looked at Catherine. With a cheese grin he held up his car "Mac & Cheese please" Ridley let out a light laugh and nods her head "If you couldn't guess little guy will be having Mac & Cheese"
